ASSISTANT BUYER

JOB DESCRIPTION 
The duty of Assistant Buyer supports the Procurement Manager in the purchase of goods and materials to ensure that the Urban Home Market product needs are met. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 
* Support Procurement Manager in daily buying functions 
* Set up new vendors in STORIS 
* Support the Showroom through POS, helping clients and visual merchandising 
* Purchase Orders- input, create product, validate pricing 
* Monitor product vendor price changes 
* Communicate with designers and customers on back ordered items status 
* Work with consignees (creating vendors in system, creating product in system, setting markups, adjusting out inventory, tagging merchandise)  
* Display consignment vendors to ensure their items are in the same area 
* Source new vendors 
* Communicate with Warehouse Supervisor on product coming in 
* Keep track of Market Design Trends 
* Maintain catalogue and fabric wall (keep organized and neat) 
* Pull all discontinued fabrics, rugs, window treatments 
* Take notes from Design Trends meeting email to Procurement Buyer 
* Communicate with Assistant Buyer in the Birmingham location on Special orders for customers 
* Support Store manager with visual merchandising the Showroom 
* Create spread sheet for products on orders for your location 
* Follow Vendor Red Book in SharePoint (Call Birmingham Assistant if needing assistance) 
* Communicate wish lists from customers monthly and send them to Birmingham Assistant Buyer for all ordering 
* Create Orange Book Special orders- maintain and acknowledge all orders 
* Create Purchase order logs for warehouse 
* Showroom-Visual Merchandise 
* Daily style and design vignette for social media pictures 
* Communicate with Birmingham Social Media team on daily posts 

REQUIRED SKILLS
* Solid organizational skills 
* Ability to perform/ multi- task both under pressure and normal 
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
* Courteous, patient attitude with all customers and team members 
* Solutions-oriented problem solver 

DESIRABLE SKILLS
* Working knowledge of Storis  
* Experience with Client Book 
* Social media and related marketing
